Hamsteels Hall cottages (Four Star grading) are in the grounds of Hamsteels Hall which is a b&b. They are very spacious bungalows with modern amenities, and panoramic views over open countryside. Recently converted stone farm buildings. Each cottage has off road parking at the rear, french windows opening onto south facing patio. The owners live on site and are ready to help or assist in any way to make your holiday enjoyable. Only 10 minutes drive into Durham City, Park and Ride is nearby

The location is perfect as we had family who live nearby. The self catering facilities suited our stay as you could please yourself with regards meals etc.
Dislikes:
The accommodation needs an update now. Hard to turn the key in the front door. Bathroom window and blind needs replacing. Shower cubicle needs attention. Sofas are very uncomfortable.

Ideal for touring Northumbria which is steeped in history, with its breathtaking historical buildings such as Durham Cathedral and Castle, Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Bowes Museum, Bedes World/Hadrians Wall, Holy Island. Other places to visit include Kielder Reservoir and Gateshead Quays - Millennium Bridge, The Sage and Baltic Arts Centre. Kynren - Epic Tale of England - is the latest attraction - it is held outside at night in the grounds of Auckland Castle
