"Couldn't have asked for more"
Spent 2 nights in The Shippon cottage. It was warm and cosy and had everything we could have possibly needed. There was a little carton of milk provided in the fridge which was great after a long journey we could have a cup of tea straight away! There was a more relaxed check out time allowed to us by the owners too which was welcomed unlike other places where you have to be out at the exact stroke of 10am. Read less

Everything was provided. We cooked a meal on one night and as well as pots and pans there was even salt and pepper. Our sons particularly enjoyed the hot tub too.

Bathroom in the Dairy needs upgrading.
Response from Martin Lane Farm Holiday Cottages:
Hi Peter thank you for the nice review, yes we agree the bathroom needs modernising so much so that I started some jobs on it yesterday! We have been so busy we have hardly had chance to get in there! Any suggestions on how we can improve the facilities are more than welcome.

"Great location for family activities"
We stayed from Sunday to Saturday in October. We immediately felt it was a welcoming cottage, with a large bright living room and two big sofas. We were able to visit the beach at Formby, Windmill animal farm (twice!), the wetlands, Rivington Pike etc with ease. Lovely Booths supermarket was very close too. Read less

Plenty of space, large living room and well equipped kitchen (which had kitchen roll, foil, hand soap etc)
Dislikes:
The downstairs rooms were damp but I think his can sometimes be expected in an old farm building.
Response from Martin Lane Farm Holiday Cottages:
Thank you for leaving a nice review and for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy. We are currently working on the room next to the cottage where soil was above the damp course causing some damp in the side wall. It should be resolved soon. Thanks you Phil, Sue and Charlie
