The comfortable bed and the quiet surroundings. Very peaceful.
Dislikes:
Room was slightly cold at times, but nothing an extra jumper couldn't fix.
Response from Twenty Seven B&B:
Thank you for your kind words Deborah.
If you had mentioned you felt the room was less warm than you would have preferred we could have addressed this for you.
Sometimes when the log burner is blazing away in the lounge - it can feel different in your room - but glad you had a great time and so good to meet you both.

The accommodation was excellent and the breakfasts were lovely and hearty. The Observatory is amazing but there is not much else open around Kielder in January. There are lots of lovely walks however.
Dislikes:
Nothing
Response from Twenty Seven B&B:
Thank you for your kind words Len, and so glad I could assist you both.
Our first real snow of the winter and glad you appreciated the log burner in the lounge.

I can't remember if you managed to visit the Kielder Bird Of Prey centre which is open 364 days a year & only 10 minutes drive away - always worth a visit. See you both again for more stargazing.

The host was very accomodating and offered an extra bed for our 8 year old daughter.
Rooms were very pleasant - would be nice if we had one more chair in the room, but other than that everything was
Dislikes:
well, the heating got turned off at night and so when we came back after our visit to kielder, we thought the room felt very cold. But once we were tucked into the duvet, all was cosy again.
Response from Twenty Seven B&B:
Thank you for feedback Vijaya.
It is luck that the room you booked for 2 adults had an additional bed for your daughter, who was not booked nor charged for.
3/5 value for money!

Sorry you felt unable to ask for an additional chair (given the extra person) or for further advice on operating the radiators.
The room/house heating ran all night & the log burner in the lounge meant the house was especially warm that evening after you returned.
Our duvets are high quality - thank you.

Dark Sky friendly accommodation in Kielder Water & Forest Park.
Twenty Seven B&B - run by wife & husband team Jill & Terry Gregg is your place to stay when exploring Kielder - stay B&B all year round
Located in Kielder village - England's most remote village - we are an ideal venue to view the dark skies. Great for all outdoor activities.
As the most tranquil place in England, the vast Kielder Water & Forest Park is an amazing oasis where adventure and stunning scenery combine in a landscape rarely seen in England. With a 27 mile shoreline, Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe and Kielder Forest, the largest planted forest in Northern Europe which means there is plenty to experience and enjoy.

Twenty Seven B&B actively supported the application by KW&FP and NNPA for Dark Sky Park Status for the area which was granted at Gold Tier level as Northumberland International Dark Sky Park

Kielder is a great arena for outdoor pursuits with plenty of fresh air and clean spring water. If you are into walking, orienteering, running, cycling, mountaineering, climbing, hunting and fishing, then Kielder is the place to visit. Nearby attractions for the less active include Kielder Castle Forestry Visitor Centre, Kielder Salmon Hatchery tours, the renowned Kielder Observatory for the best dark skies in England, Kielder Birds of Prey Centre, NWL Visitor Centre and Kielder Arts and Architecture. Twenty Seven is an ideal base to explore further afield: Alnwick Gardens & Castle (1.5 hr); Hadrian's Wall forts and path (45 mins); Northumberland coast and castles (2 hr) and Scottish border towns (45 mins).

After a busy day you will receive a warm welcome where you will find a comfortable dining conservatory and lounge with log burner. All rooms have towels, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities, and toiletries. The local pub, "the Anglers Arms" is only 5 minutes walk away from the B & B, offering pub grub and real ales.
