We enjoyed our stay here a lot - room was comfortable & clean, breakfast filling & tasty, and coming back to that warm pub & log fire at the end of each day was wonderful. The owner is a lovely guy, welcoming & helpful with suggestions about the area, as well as an excellent cook! We'd definitely recommend the place & hope to return one day. Read less
Likes:
Friendly owner & staff, warm & welcoming pub (popular with locals too), & delicious food (with some surprising options well beyond the normal pub fare).
Dislikes:
The room was a little cold, (heater didn't seem to warm up fully), and kettle could do with a clean, but very minor points overall.
Response from The White Stag:
Thank you for your review, so glad you enjoyed your stay. You'll be happy to know that the rooms will all be getting an upgrade as we go through the year!

The White Stag is set in the small village of Strathyre 9 miles north of Callander in The Trossachs, Perthshire, Scotland. On the A84 'Road to the Isles' only 1hour and 40mins to Oban and the ferries to the Hebrides, The Inn is an excelent stopping off point for a comfortable bed and a relaxed meal.

If you are walking the Rob Roy Way, The White Stag is the perfect halfway point between Killin and Aberfoyle, where you will no doubt bump into other walkers warming themselves by the fire in winter, or sitting in the beer garden in summer.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly B&B or just want some great food in relaxed surroundings, then join us in our special part of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Central Scotland.

Relax by the open fire in the bar, or in Summer, enjoy our Beer Terrace which gives panoramic views to Ben Sheann and beyond (midges and weather not guaranteed!)

This and more are complemented by a choice of real ales –we've been featured in THE GOOD BEER GUIDE for three consectutive years and we've a tempting selection of malts for those that fancy a wee dram.

Our comfortable rooms offer a relaxing resting place and don't forget your four footed friend - DOGS ARE WELCOME in both the bar and our rooms! We can arrange anything for you in your room by prior request from a lovely bottle of bubbly to flowers and chocolates for the romantics.

There’s easy access to the hills with walks, cycle-ways - the Sustrans National Cycle Route 7 is on our doorstep, with golf, fishing and water sports all within easy reach to ensure that the enthusiasts amongst you are not disappointed.

We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful corner of “Rob Roy Country”.
