Ffynonwen Guest House is a lovely place, hidden in the rolling hills, close enough and far enough from Aberporth and Cardigan. We were looking for quiet, peaceful base for our whole day trips, where we could stay with a child and a dog. And Ffynonwen Guest House was a good choice. The rooms were a little bit out of date but very clean and comfortable. Food was delicious. We liked the homemade jams especially! Our dog could accompany us almost everywhere! Read less

Quiet, good value.
Dislikes:
One shower was poor. Place rather untidy, longish walk to nearest pub restaurant.

Ffynonwen is a family run guest house set in the secluded countryside and surrounded by fields. Only mile from the sea, a short 20 minute walk. The 300-year-old farmhouse has been updated to provide comfortable holiday, with bed, breakfast and accommodation all within a traditional setting. We are also pet friendly, with a local pet friendly beaches.

Ffynonwen is Welsh for 'White Spring', which still provides us with all our water. Ffynonwen retains the feel and character of a traditional Welsh family farmhouse. Stefani and daughter Karla extend a warm welcome to all our guests. Our resident canines enjoy the company of visiting dogs. Whilst our four cats patrol the barns and out buildings, Misty, our Welsh Cob, roams our fields.

Cattle graze in the fields during the summer and autumn. You may even find a couple of pigs during your stay, snorting and snuffling, around in the paddock.

Our lakes are home to a variety of wildlife, including moor hens and ducks. If you are lucky you may spot the elusive terrapin sunbathing on the rocks. Many Buzzards and Red Kites can often be seen circling overhead. There are lovely views of the lakes and the distant sea from all the bedrooms, which our guests, both human and furry, have freedom to explore.

Ffynonwen is ideally situated for walkers due to its close location to the Cardigan and Pembroke coastal paths. For short distance walkers there are other routes, such as the "Poetry Trail" which can be started from Ffynonwens free car park.

We offer Clay Pigeon Shooting within the grounds. Graham Perry provides professional tuition and guidance, provided by prior arrangement. Other activities, requiring reservation, include quilting and peg looming workshops by Stefani Flower.

Situated in Mid Wales, Ffynonwen is perfect for exploring the Welsh heritage. From legendary Castles and Mythical Monoliths to Narrow gauge Railways and Gold Mines, we are never far away.

Please contact Stefani and Karla for more POI.
