"Everything exceeded our expectations"
We were there for four nights, our hosts were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The b&b itself is wonderful, lovingly refurbished to a very high standard, we are very envious of the bathrooms and the gardens. The location is perfect too, quiet and away from it all. The river views are stunning, despite the weather we were happy to sit and watch the world go by. Read less

It's a lovely relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming and homely. Sitting by the fire in the evening after a busy day visiting gardens was wonderful, just what we needed.

Very quiet and peaceful with a very pretty view.
Dislikes:
It would have been helpful to have a table in my room that I could have set up my computer on. However, this was a minor issue in a beautiful room with a wonderful view - very quiet.

Had a wonderful time, very comfortable and well looked after by the owners. Very peaceful in a wonderful location by the river. In better weather we would have made good use of the garden and balcony!
Dislikes:
If I had to suggest any improvement it would only be the addition of a clock in the room.

The Old Vicarage is a unique award winning guest house located in the picturesque, ancient village of St Clement 1.5 miles from the Cathedral City of Truro. This stylish guest accommodation enjoys stunning views of the beautiful Tresillian River and the wooded banks of the famous Tregothnan Estate beyond. Tregothnan is home to the UKs only tea plantation. Delightful riverside and woodland walks begin through our garden gate.

Dating back to the early 1500s the property was renovated in 2012 incorporating the latest environmental and energy efficient technologies. This has resulted in our six guest bedrooms offering comfortable and stylish accommodation in a quiet, virtually traffic free location.

Breakfast, using mostly local ingredients is cooked to order in our glass fronted, open plan breakfast room over looking the garden.

St Clement is remote enough to be a tranquil idyll away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and yet close to the City of Truro. St Clement is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, a conservation area and a site of specific scientific interest.

Truro is Cornwall’s one and only city. Truro once thrived as a river port and the prosperity of the late 18th and early 19th century can be seen today in the elegant town houses that line the city’s streets. Centre stage is Truro’s impressive gothic revival cathedral that towers over the town and inside are some of the finest examples of Victorian stained glass in the country. In its shadow a warren of back streets are home to dozens of independent traders selling all you need from funky fashions and cool surf wear to locally made bread and Cornish cheeses. With a year long festival programme, weekly food markets, several art galleries and a plethora of fine eateries Truro is a cultural and culinary gem.

Don't miss The Eden Project, Cornwall's great gardens, coastal walks, beaches, river boat trips and a diverse range of visitor attractions.
Environmental Statement
Here at The Old Vicarage we endeavour to run our business in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. We recycle all waste paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and tins. To enhance the soil in our garden we compost all of our food and garden waste. Our domestic hot water is heated via air source heat pumps as is the underfloor heating system. An air conditioning heat exchanger extracts the heat from the bathrooms and kitchen area, extracts the heat and uses it to heat fresh air which is then circulated into all the rooms. During the complete refurbishment of The Old Vicarage we incorporated the very latest insulation materials to ensure that we retain as much heat as possible. A ultra efficient wood burning stove has been installed on the ground floor to supplement the other forms of heating throughout the colder months.
