We wanted a base from which to explore Exeter and surrounding countryside. The new owner, Cathy, was lovely and made us most welcome. The room was large and comfortably furnished. Lots of parking. 2 good pubs a mile or so away for evening meals (The Thatch is particularly good). Read less
Likes:
Cathy's welcome, the attractiveness of the building, comfortable room.
Dislikes:
Breakfast on day one coincided with a busy time (café open to public) and my request for a boiled egg (not on menu) was deemed too much hard work by the kitchen! Cathy apologised the next day etc.

Welcome to Woodleigh Coach House, a Grade II listed building built in 1896 as a distribution point for a brewery, set adjacent to Dartmoor National Park and other areas of outstanding natural beauty.

We offer a wide variety of short break activities from fly fishing tuition, reservoir sailing, horse riding or to suit more artistic guests we offer jewellery making, painting techniques both oil and watercolour and rustic furniture making. We are also open to people just looking for an overnight stop to break up long journeys. The Coach House has tremendous views, straight out from some of the rooms, and a beautiful garden for residents to relax and unwind in.

On the East Wing of the Coach House there is a café open to guests and non-residents, serving delicious, traditional home-cooked food.
