We were visiting family in Barnstaple so needed two rooms for a few nights, Had elderly mother (92) with us, room was on second floor with wide long stairs which was a problem for her. No downstairs toilets, no lounge. Double room was very small, with the smallest shower room ever, but we were out all day, so not having facilities was not a problem. Read less

The Couple that ran the Guest House, were very friendly and tried to make Mum comfortable. The food was good and the accommodation was basic but served its purpose
Dislikes:
the front steps were very steep and the hand rail covered by flowers so you were unable to use part of it. The rooms and shower rooms were very very small. Not having a lounge

We have read your review and have stated on our website that we are not suitable for those with mobility problems.
I disagree with the statement about the steep front door steps, these are sloped certainly not steep. Part of the handrail is covered with flowers, as they are only out for a short while .I will remove them asap. If you would have preferred a larger room , it would have been better to have booked a premier room.

The accommodation is ideal for visitors who are touring the Exmoor/ North Devon area and require accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis in Ilfracombe. Evening meals may also be provided by prior arrangement, but not during high season. Rainbow Ridge Guest House (Ilfracombe) is perfect for those who just want to relax in outstanding accommodation in Ilfracombe and soak up the lovely countryside in and around Exmoor.

Please note. There are a number of steps leading up to the front door. The premier rooms and the basic single are on the first floor whilst the smaller standard rooms and the en-suite single are on the second floor. We do not have any bedrooms on the ground floor.We are not really suitable for people with mobility problems due to the number of steps as we don't have a lift.
