Everything was nice about the hotel. Very friendly people,lovely room overlooking the sea and the breakfast was delicious.
Dislikes:
No complaints. It is high up and you do have to go up a few hills from central Ilfracombe but it is in a lovely setting.

Welcome to Varley House, a 4* Guest House, delightfully situated overlooking a nature reserve and the spectacular North Devon coast of Ilfracombe. Varley House was built at the turn of the 19th Century to revitalise and refresh officers returning from the Boer War.
We have our own car park and sunny garden and are situated opposite Hillsborough Nature Reserve, which overlooks the harbour, itself a short stroll away. There are plenty of attractive and exciting things to see and do locally. The elegance of its generously proportioned rooms and stylish furnishings are typical of the gracious age in which it was built.
Varley House is perfectly complemented by the quality, courtesy and warmth of the hospitality you will enjoy here from the moment you arrive, whether you are planning a really active few days or a restful break. Varley House offers you a unique, friendly atmosphere and the soothing surroundings essential for a relaxing holiday.
All of our rooms are en suite except for the single, which has its own private bathroom. Wireless internet access is now available.

Family rooms are based upon children under 14 years of age.
Save 10% on weekly bookings. We offer a 3 NIGHT BREAK from the 1st October to the 31st May for £90.00 per person (excluding bank holiday weeks.)
