Local Area Information
Newmoor Park is privately situated about 2.5 miles from Launceston just off the A388. Launceston was the capital of Cornwall, complete with Assizes, until it was usurped by Bodmin in the 18th Century, which in turn was demoted in favour of Truro, the only city in Cornwall (granted by Queen Victoria in 1877). In Launceston, the remains of the 11th century castle stand over the town's winding streets filled with independent shops and places of interest such as the Lawrence House Museum.
How to Find Us
Heading East on the A30 from Penzance(approx 1.5 miles)
On the A30 cross the Dunheved Bridge (Devon/Cornwall border) and take next left exit for A388 (Lifton & Liftondown). Turn left at T Junction for Polson. As you near the bottom of the hill, look for our yellow & blue sign "Newmoor Park" on the left. It's a tight turn so best pass us and perform a U Turn either at the next small road junction or Launceston Rugby Club. If you do turn look for the "Welcome to Devon" sign, we are immediatley opposite, down a steep lane on the right next to the river.
Launceston Town(approx 2 miles)
From Launceston take the A388 road signposted to Lifton & Okehampton, found on the eastern end of town. Stay on the A388 passing Launceston Rugby Club on the right hand side and then you'll cross the River Tamar before gently following the road around to the right. You will begin to climb a hill and notice on your left a "Welcome to Devon" sign. We are immediately opposite this sign on the right hand side down a steep drive alongside the river. Newmoor Park is a large 3 storey house on the left.
Heading West on the A30 (M5)(approx 1.5 miles)
Join the A30 from the M5 and head towards Launceston. Leave the A30 sign posted Liftondown (DO NOT CROSS THE RIVER TAMAR VIA A30). Follow the road around to the left and at T junction turn left, (A388 Polson). Follow the road which bends sharp right and then you will see our blue and yellow sign "Newmoor Park"on the left. It is best to pass us and perform a U Turn at the Rugby Club. We are opposite the "Welcome to Devon" sign on the right down a steep drive alongside the river, a 3 storey house.
Helicopter(approx 0 miles)
From your private helicopter choose a lovely spot to land anywhere within our nine acres of parkland and make your way on foot to the main house. Please avoid landing on other guests or our chickens / ducks as this tends to cause upset and please no stunts or coloured smoke as you pass overhead as the locals arrive en mass assuming an air show is in progress.
For guests parachuting in please avoid the treehouse as Devon Fire & Rescue will charge to cut you down from heights > 20 feet. Thankyou.
