All you could ask for in accommodation with attentive but unobtrusive hosts. So pleasant to spoon local jams and honey from large jars rather than the one-person pots from the ubiquitous Mr Cooper.

Elegant and comfortable. All of the B&Bs we used were good, but this one had the best breakfasts and matched any of the others in terms of room quality. Extensive parks and trails nearby.
Dislikes:
Acess is by narrow roads, and it's easy to get lost on the way.

Lanscombe House B&B hotel is tucked away amongst the ancient colour washed stone and thatched cottages of Cockington Village that nestles in a tranquil wooded valley at the heart of Cockington Country Park an archetypal English village with an old forge, water mill, tearooms and pub: a rural oasis just ten minutes rural stroll to the sea and Torquay beyond.
Our top quality country house accommodation features just eight individual bedrooms creating relaxing spaces where antique and reproduction furniture sit comfortably alongside period touches. There are quality en-suite bathrooms with showers or baths to relieve your stresses & strains; soft, fluffy towels, waffle robes & stylish natural bathroom products (all hand blended at our local artisan crafts centre) add a touch of luxury. We have the added benefit of an elegant guest lounge with seasonal log fires, small bar and a spacious, sun drenched breakfast room where we lovingly prepare your breakfast with mostly Devon products.
Lanscombe House has plenty of on-site parking, free wifi access and we have a village restaurant/pub for the first night. To help you discover the very best of the local area we are happy to make recommendations for local restaurants.
Lanscombe House is ideally situated for sightseeing. We're inside Cockington Country Park while about 30 minutes walk from Torquay harbour with its selection of pubs, shops & restaurants but we're far enough removed from the centre of town when you want to retreat and relax. We have daytime minibus services to Torquay and Paignton while the immediate surrounding area offers a stunning range of walks to suit all abilities and too many top rated attractions, beaches, gardens & historic houses to number.
We try to source West Country and local produce where possible. We are working towards a Green Tourism Award by recycling and segregating our waste, minimising our energy usage and making our grounds wildlife friendly.
