"Nice but wouldn't stay there again."
Lovely area to stay in. Looked lovely from outside. Room was nice but bathroom was dusty and had cobwebs, the actual facilities were clean but it clear that it's only those that got regularly cleaned. Room had a strange smell which I couldn't get rid off. It wasn't a bad smell but a very trying floral smell like a plug in or room spray. Breakfast was cold. I sent mine back but hubby was too embarrassed. The whole stay just felt awkward. Read less

I have to say we slept very well considering we had all the windows open to get rid of the strong smell. The town itself is beautiful.
Dislikes:
It felt as though breakfast was cooked early and then reheated ( supposedly) when we came in at our allotted time.
Response from The Guiting Guest House:
We are sorry to see your review from 3 points of view. Firstly, each room is cleaned thoroughly after the departure of all guests. On the night you stayed the next room was empty and had you asked we would have moved you into that room. Secondly we have not received any previous complaints about this very popular room, but we respect your comments and will ensure it does not reoccur. Thirdly the heat of the freshly-cooked breakfasts is a bit of mystery and if asked we will always re-cook.

All our guests are assured of a very warm welcome at the Guiting Guest House which is a delightful and tastefully restored 16th Century Cotswold-stone former farmhouse with modernised facilities.

Everywhere there are exposed beams with an inglenook fireplace and polished solid pine floors from the Wychwood Forest. The open fire creates a welcoming atmosphere in the colder months with a Cotwold garden in Summer.

At Guiting Guest House, some of the bedrooms have four-poster beds with en suite (adjacent) bathrooms, with the exception of one which has private facilities.

Our breakfast is varied and may include home-made bread with an accent on the freshness of local Cotswolds produce.

If you are booking within 24 hours of your arrival date, please call ahead to confirm check-in time. Between 1st May and 30th September, at weekends, check with the Guest House before making multiple bookings for 1 night.

Guiting is within very easy motoring distance of such places as Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Winchcombe, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford. Just north of the village is the Cotswold Farm Park, home to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust which exists to preserve historic breeds of farm animals that might otherwise become extinct.
Environmental Statement
We try to minimise the impact to the environment, therefore unless towels are placed in the bath, it is assumed guests are happy to re-use them.
