Dislikes:
The front, road-facing room, was fine at night but noisier than the back room.

For my purposes it was very close to where I needed to go and also reasonably priced.
Dislikes:
As mentioned it was on a main road and so could hear passing cars throughout the day and night.

Brookthorpe Lodge is a family run guest house and Robert and Diana Bailey have been looking after guests for the past 16 years. We are just 10 minutes from Gloucester city centre, in a Cotswolds countryside setting.

Whether you are visiting the area on business or looking for a short break you can expect a very warm welcome,a freshly cooked breakfast and professional standards of service. Explore historic Gloucester and its many attractions, including the magnificent Cathedral, victorian docks and museums and the recently opened Gloucester Quays designer shopping outlet.

Visit nearby regency Cheltenham and the outstanding countryside and villages of the Cotswolds, including pretty Painswick, just 10 minutes away. A day trip to Slimbridge to visit the wildfowl and wetlands trust centre is only a short drive away and the world famous towns of Bath and Stratford - upon - Avon are less than 1 hour by car.

Brookthorpe Lodge is a Georgian period country house built about 1820 offering comfortable accommodation on 3 floors with 2 staircases. We have a variety of guest rooms, 9 in total, choose from single, twin, double and family, some on the ground floor and most are en-suite, many have Cotswolds views.

We offer a traditional English cooked breakfast using local ingredients in our airy, homely feel dining room and there are also plenty of other choices to suit all tastes, including cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt. We also have a cosy sitting room and small bar where guests can relax. Evening meals are are available at a nearby Pub/ Restaurant.
