"A wonderful place to stay in London and get the feel of living there."
My wife and daughter and I stayed for a couple of nights en route between the South Coast and Scotland because for us there is no better place in London. On each of our several stays, we have always been made welcome as returning friends with outstanding hospitality from the whole team at the Harrison. Mingling with the local people and enjoying a great dinner is always a highlight for us. The Harrison is not your average hotel -its staying with friends in the most fascinating city in the world. The friendliness of the staff and the general feeling of being welcomed into the neighbourhood.
Dislikes:
As usual the stay was far too short. One of these days we simply must plan to stay longer, see more, and enjoy more!

The Harrison is an independently owned freehouse, set in a quiet leafy residential street just south of the bustle of Kings Cross. It has been lovingly restored in keeping with the building’s Art Deco flair to create a light and airy modern bar. Locally renowned for its food, The Harrison serves high quality modern English cuisine at a reasonable price.

The Harrison has four stylishly refurbished en-suite hotel rooms for the business or leisure traveller.

Kings Cross has undergone a massive rejuvenation in the past 10 years and now features an increasing number of attractions and cultural establishments. The new British Library (5 min walk) has on display some of the world's most famous written and printed items, such as the Magna Carta (1215), Shakespeare's First Folio & original Beetles lyrics.

Near The Harrison, the Foundling Museum (5 min walk) tells the story of London's first home for abandoned babies. Also the Charles Dickens House Museum is a few minutes walk away through the beautiful historic Mecklenburgh Square. The cutting-edge Gagosian Modern Art Gallery (5 min walk) regularly features free exhibitions such as Giacometti, Damien Hurst or Jeff Koons. The area also features a number of restaurants, bars, music venues, clubs and theatres.

To the north you can walk along the canal to Camden Town or up Pentonville hill to the Angel, Islington.

To the south lies the attractive Bloomsbury district, famous for its literary history, leafy squares and book shops. There is also the world famous British Museum (10 min walk) which houses a huge collection of cultural treasures from around the world, including Egyptian mummies and the Elgin Marbles. Past the museum lies Tottenham Court Road (20 min walk), Soho and the West End Theatres

PLEASE NOTE- Our bar/restaurant is closed on all bank holidays (3rd & 6th April, 4th & 25th May and 31st August 2015)
