"Nice place from which to stage your Skye adventure"
We stayed in a newly acquired property just down the street from the original. The grounds/garden needed a little work, but the room was clean and comfortable. We had to go back down the street to Saucy Mary's for breakfast which was very good. Local salmon and eggs were delicious and plentiful. Coffee was out when we arrived, but they replenished quickly. Overall a decent place at a good price. Read less
Likes:
The room had a traditional feel while being up-to-date.
Dislikes:
The tea/coffee and cookie basket was not completely replenished when we arrived. Small, but attention to detail matters.

Hi Thank you for the review - I am surprised you say the room is small as it is our largest room! But I am glad you were generally happy.

Kyleakin is at the gateway to Skye with views up and down Kyle of Lochalsh under the Skye Bridge to the North West or through along Southern Skye to the South East. In Summer the sun will set gloriously behind the bridge and rise again behind the ruined Castle Moil the following day. Across the water is the Island of Eilean Ban with its lighthouse and Gavin Maxwell Museum Wildlife that may be seen include an entensive range of birds, otters, pine martens, mink and occasionally basking, sharks, dolphins, porpoises and whales. There are many boats or ships using the waterway. Kyleakin is an excellent place to begin a round trip of the Island taking in Portree 35 miles to the North, Waternish, Dunvegan and down the west coast through Glendale and Elgol for the more adventurous. There are many restaurants nearby apart from our own and across the water in Kyle of Lochalsh boat trips on water may be booked.
