Likes:
Very large family room, although only two of us. Welcoming and clean guest house.
Ordering breakfast the night before meant it was made freshly for us next morning. Great.
Private off-road parkin
Dislikes:
Upset to find staff had been into our room without asking to change bedding/towels while we were at breakfast. Cheeky!
Response from The Wycliffe:
Notes on fines re the toilets are needed as despite being told not to some guests will still put items down them that block them,we then have to pay the plummer to come and clear them,Costly and very unpleasant! We charge for extra toast as it is also the extra butter and jams etc that come with it. You won't get free toast in town cafes, in fact most don't include the toast as standard. Staff shouldn't have gone in your rooms so soon,it would have been nice if you could have told us on checkout

Convenient for to town if have time to look around. Good choice of breakfasts which are selected night before to ensure guests are not delayed by the ordering process.
Dislikes:
Single room shower room small but OK for one night. Parking area to side of hotel was full but able to park on highway. Hotel is opposite Police HQ and glad noisy car sirens stopped before bedtime.
Response from The Wycliffe:
Unfortunately I was not at the guest house when this lady arrived, there was a small parking space available but she would need to have been shown by Mike or myself how to access it.

You are assured of a warm welcome at our Victorian guest house situated in its own gardens, one of the very few in the area with private off road parking. Over the years the charming building has been tastefully modernised to provide clean and comfortable accommodation whilst still retaining many of its original features.

We are within 10 minutes of the Channel Tunnel and 15 minutes to the Dover ferries, making it ideal for anyone requiring a break in their journey. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement or alternatively the town centre with its restaurants, bars and clubs and the Leas Cliff Hall are only a short stroll away. The seafront, leas coastal park, children's play area and picturesque harbour are also within easy reach. France is just 35 minutes away by the Eurotunnel, a great place for shopping and the gateway to the resorts, historic towns and scenic countryside of northern France and Belgium.

So many beautiful, exciting and interesting places are also within easy reach by car, train or bus: the cathedral city of Canterbury and its unique world heritage site attractions, Dover, the medieval town of Rye, Leeds Castle, wildlife parks, miniature railways, stately homes and glorious gardens are just some of the attractions. The north downs with its rolling hills and pretty villages are on the outskirts of Folkestone. We welcome families, well behaved pets for a small additional charge and motorbikes, which can be parked safely away from the main car park.
