The ancient market town of Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley dates back to Saxon times and is a perfect place for visitors wishing to explore Lancashire’s Forest of Bowland, one of England’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The scenic Forest of Bowland is to the north of Clitheroe with Pendle Hill to the east. Passengers using the West Coast Main Line should change at Preston to the Blackpool to York service and change again at Blackburn for the service to Clitheroe.
Passengers using the East Coast Main Line should change at Leeds to the York to Blackpool service and change again at Blackburn.
