A week away in Norfolk, revisited after 10 years to fish and site see. The weather was lovely, the fishing exceptional, Breakfast very good, Room too small very dismal and uninviting, needs decorating and repairing.
Dustbins outside the bedroom door! The whole outside area needs tiding up. Except the fishing lakes that are well kept and maintained. We consider that this holiday was not value for money because of the room quality, no evening meals, as advertised? and the general ambiance. Read less
Likes:
Fantastic area and great quality fishing. Female owner professional, friendly and attentive, the staff also very pleasant. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
Dislikes:
Male owner is bordering on being rude, no communication takes Him all His time to "grunt" good morning. No evening meals as advertised? Mattress springs very noisy! All in need of attention.

You’ll find Bartles Lodge in the tiny, sleepy village of Elsing, just a few miles from the busy market town of Dereham. The Lodge provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in our converted stables, surrounded by 11 acres of beautiful grounds. What's more for those with caravans we have a C L Touring Caravan site.

Our setting is ideal for the fishing enthusiast as we have three well stocked fishing lakes. Bartles Lodge is also the ideal base from which to explore all that Norfolk has to offer – from the Norfolk broads to the north Norfolk coast.

There’s something for everyone along Norfolk’s stunning coastline. North Norfolk with its wildlife marshes and never ending beaches is rugged and beautiful. Trips out could include bird watching at Cley marshes, a boat trip from Morston to Blakeney Point to see more wildlife including seals, lunch at Morston Hall run by the now infamous TV celebrity chef Galton Blackiston, shopping in Burnham market and a long walk along the beach at Holkham. Further round the coast you’ll find the timeless resorts of Sheringham and Cromer and miles of golden sandy beaches that stretch right round the coast to Great Yarmouth.
The price for your stay is the total room price and dose not include breakfast. This is an add on extra and is at the end of the booking page.
