We enjoy the Stephen Joseph Theatre so booked a couple of nights around a play. The rest of the time we walked in the North Bay area and up the coast relaxing in the fresh air and calling at several of the excellent local cafes. It was rather windy, but that just the sea more interesting. Peaceful nights were followed by generous breakfasts. This is a great place to unwind and re-charge the batteries. Read less

"Nothing was too much trouble - So friendly"
So hospitable room marvellous I was upgraded at no extra cost. Breakfast was buffet style. Apart from a selection of fruit and cereal there was a 'bain marie' food was kept hot together with the plates of beautifully prepared breakfast items, which were not swimming in grease.Hot drinks of your choice freshly prepared. As I was going walking for the day Lisa prepared a hot flask of my choice and would have given me a packed lunch had I required one. Read less

The Villa Marina has 10 delightfully furnished and centrally heated bedrooms, all with en suite, flat screen televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. We have a pleasant lounge where you can sit and read books on Scarborough past and present, or just browse over the information on where to visit next. Our spacious dining room has separate tables where food is always of a high standard and is both plentiful and varied. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals are also available by prior arrangement. Car parking facilities are available for up 6 medium sized cars subject to availability, there is also free on street parking nearby along with long-stay pay parking

The Villa Marina is perfectly situated to enjoy all of Scarborough's northside attractions...Peasholm park with its boating lake and 'pitch and putt' course are opposite the guest house, while the beach, the indoor swimming pool and miniature railway are just a few minutes away. A short stroll takes you to Scarborough Castle, the harbour and foreshore entertainments and of course, to the town centre with its many shops, cafes and restaurants.

Scarborough is one of England's finest seaside resorts with a wealth of attractions, but if you want to venture further afield, there are many lovely places to visit. Taking the coast road north you will find picturesque Robin Hood's Bay with its clustered old houses clinging to the cliffside and the famous old fishing port of Whitby, its Abbey ruins perched high above the busy harbour. Or drive inland to the beautiful unspoilt North Yorkshire Moors and to pretty towns and villages like Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Thornton-le-Dale. For some of the finest scenery, take a ride on one of the old steam trains which run from Pickering to Grosmont. If you like something a little grander, try a visit to Castle Howard, or spend a day in historic York with its ancient Minster and city walls. Or for complete peace and quiet, maybe a restful walk in Dalby Forest.
