We wanted to be near the city of York so we could leave the car alone and it was a 5 min walk so that was brilliant. We were there just to soak up the history of York and enjoy the lovely City. We really enjoyed staying at the City Guest House and Julie and Allan were very friendly. We had car problems and Allan assisted with jump leads and was very kind to offer his help. In the room was advice on good placed to eat of which we tried, we enjoyed Little Italy. Read less

Situated in the heart of Historical York, this very special guest house is an ideal base for exploring the ancient City of York. Leave your car in our private car park and you're only five minutes walk from the jewel of York's heritage the Minster. Ten minutes walk from Heworth Golf Club, nine to eleven hole course ( many other golf clubs close to York). You are also in close proximity of the city wall, ancient streets, attractions, city centre shops and a variety of very good restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes.
We offer 6 en suite rooms, including 1 room on the ground floor and 1 room with private facilities. All rooms have central heating, colour TV, hospitality tray, radio alarm, hairdryer and trouser press.
Enjoy a full English breakfast in our delightful dining area with alternative offers such as continental or vegetarian fayre.
Awarded four stars by both the English Tourist Board and the Automobile Association your hosts Allan and Julie have set the highest of standards. Our friendly and helpful service with comfortable accommodation is excellent value for money.
