The staff were friendly and courteous. It was a nice quiet area of the city. They were very helpful if you were trying to find a good restaurant or a pub.
Dislikes:
I understand the constraints of the building but I still don't really like shared bathroom facilities.

The Farthings is a charming Victorian guest house built in 1895, and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the south side of the city. The historic city walls are only 5 minutes walk away, and all York's major attractions and theatres can be easily reached on foot.
Each room has been individually decorated and furnished to match its character. Some rooms have en-suite shower and toilet and some are suitable for small families. All rooms are centrally heated with tea & coffee making facilities and clock radios.
All rooms are tastefully furnished, providing comfort and cleanliness. The delicious quality breakfast is served in the ground floor dining room and caters for all tastes including full English, continental and vegetarian options.
There is free on street parking outside with a permit.
