We stayed for two nights at The Coach house as a base to explore Northumberland. From arriving to leaving our stay was an excellent experience. Being greeted with tea and scones was a really nice touch. Lambs in the garden, comfy beds, idyllic setting, tremendous food and front of house second to none, it was just perfect. Read less

We both loved Jackie! Everyone else was also so friendly and helpful, really made us feel at home. The food was superb and the environment and setting was so relaxing; couldn't have been happier!
Dislikes:
We both plan to come back again in the future! I hope you carry on doing what you do. You are so good at it and we genuinely can't think of a better place we've stayed.

The dinner, although we were the only couple eating that night was superb. Were able to request what we wanted to eat earlier in the afternoon.
Dislikes:
The plates at breakfast were cold which meant that the lovely cooked breakfast went cold very quickly.

The Coach House is a superb friendly, family run guest house offering dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. Located in Crookham, Cornhill on Tweed near Berwick upon Tweed, the Scottish Borders and the north Northumberland coast. Comprising of a 17thC dower house with a collection of former farm buildings located in rolling countryside, the Coach House has been tastefully renovated and is the perfect retreat to base yourself from. The Coach House is halfway between Newcastle and Edinburgh on the A697, and is conveniently located to allow easy access to all the treasures located in the 'Secret Kingdom' of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

The traditional bedrooms upstairs in the dower house offer exposed beams and plenty of character. The tastefully converted bedrooms set around the sun filled courtyard offer spacious fully equipped and disabled friendly accommodation.

The large vaulted residents lounge and bar features a great open fire with lovely views over the terrace and orchard, where Black Welsh Mountain sheep & our flock of chickens graze beneath Damson trees. Complementary afternoon tea is served in the lounge to all guests and on a warm afternoon you can enjoy refreshments in the suntrap that is our expansive terrace.

Breakfast is served in our 2 elegant dining rooms with period fireplaces, beams and feature windows and dinner is available each evening although we strongly recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. .
