There was nothing not to like. The location was so peaceful and relaxing. The bed was so comfortable, better than anything I have experienced in a big hotel. The breakfast filled us up for the day.

The historic Causey Arch railway bridge, the first of its kind in the world, and Tanfield Steam Railway are literally on the doorstep and must be visited. Beamish Open Air Museum and the Victorian pleasure grounds of Gibside Chapel are a few minutes drive away.

All of our en suite rooms are of a high standard and well equipped. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable as possible in our family home and with our wonderful home cooking, using the finest local ingredients. Special care is taken to accommodate all dietary requirements.
