The breakfasts were plentiful, with the tea, coffee and toast being brought to the table. The hotel's evening meals are very good. The staff were polite and helpful when serving the food.

"relaxing get-away"
Very enjoyable visiting Gigha and gardens in the area, weather could have been warmer, but Scotland is Scotland and the scenery is fantastic. I stayed here about 9 years ago when the food was good but the accommodation a little tired but now the accommodation has been brought very much up to a high standard so a very enjoyable stay. Welcome to the Anchor Hotel!

Scottish hospitality is world renowned, and quite simply, the Anchor is exceptional Scottish hospitality at its finest. Conveniently located on the picturesque harbour side in Tarbert, the Anchor Hotel is easily accessible to all, be it by land or sea. Our location, in the heart of Argyll, is an ideal stopping off point for travels further on to the Isles of Islay, Jura and Gigha, or the perfect destination after a day at sea.

We are in a great area for walkers embarking on the Kintyre Trail, or equally for Scotch connoisseurs sampling the Whisky Trail. Or maybe you just want some quality time taking in the scenery, or a family break with the chance to go horse riding, golfing, sailing or fishing. You can be sure that the Anchor is the perfect base for your trip, come in, unwind and soak up the welcoming, informal atmosphere, enjoy the fresh local catches in our Seabed Restaurant, sample the vast array of stunningly smooth malts in our Loch Fyne Bar, maybe have a nightcap or two, and retire to your splendidly appointed guest room. Your comfort and satisfaction is our priority. Whatever brings you to Tarbert, the Anchor will bring you back.

If you have any queries at all about our establishment or the services we provide please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We take every chance to ensure that visitors to our establishment have a memorable experience.
