Dunvalanree, built in 1938 with an Art Deco flavour, was upgraded in 1999 to four star. Most rooms, all individually decorated, enjoy panoramic sea views.
Standing in delightful gardens on the edge of Port Righ Bay, Dunvalanree enjoys splendid views over Kilbrannon Sound, to the Isle of Arran, and around Carradale Bay and Forest. Listen to the sea gently lapping on the bay below the hotel.

Dunvalanree is a founding member of the Sea Food Trail, championing the very best our local waters produce. Nearly all ther food served is sourced locally and specially prepared each night for diners. All dinners are made from fresh ingredients. To reflect availability the menu changes each night.

The most popular pastime amongst visitors to Port Righ is walking, and perhaps golf. Fortunately as there are so many choices, from Carradale Bay to the wind farm but walkers are likely to find it very quiet. Dunvalanree has a series of walks based at Port Righ. Some sections of the Kintyre Way are also accessible.
The area abounds in history, from Neolithic to Robert the Bruce. The Scottish nation emerged from the ancient kingdom of Dal Riada which is based around Kintyre, with Somerled, The Lord of the Isles. Saddell was home to one of the stone carving schools of west Scotland set up by Somerled.

Campbeltown is full of listed buildings. Once known as Little Glasgow reflecting the number of leading Glasgow architects tempted down to the end of Kintyre to Design and Build. Well worth doing the self guided walk.

Campbeltown, once home to about 34 distilleries now has three, producing five seperate whiskies, Mitchells, the oldest, produces not only Springbank but also Longrow whisky which is peated and Hazelburn. Which is your favourite? Dunvalanree has over 60 malts so guests can enjoy a journey of discovery.

Free WiFi

After dinner enjoy a Springbank whisky and fall asleep to the sound of the sea gently lapping on the beach below.
