We had a family stay at the Carpenter's Arms in order to visit Highclere Castle. This was the perfect location for us (about a mile from the castle). The accommodation is in a separate annex and the family room we stayed in was like an old rustic cottage with two bedrooms and a bathroom, exposed beams and a large open fireplace in the double room. The food choice and quality was excellent and Andy and his staff really friendly and helpful. Read less
Likes:
Almost everything, the room was spot on for a family with two teenage boys, the food and service were exemplary and the location was perfect.
Dislikes:
The room had a small kitchenette area but facilities were limited and some of the cupboards had seen better days. This is, however, a minor detail and in no way affected our enjoyment of our stay.
Response from The Carpenters Arms:
Thanks guys for staying with us and hope you enjoyed Highclere
