A simple but clean room with a splendid double aspect. A very friendly bar with superbly kept beer and a very good chef,Sonia, who cooked our steaks to perfection. Superb breakfasts cooked by Andy.

Very friendly owners, staff and locals/regulars. Brought into the conversation as soon as I entered the bar. Food - good portions and very enjoyable. Comfy bed. Always felt I had value for money.

In the tranquility of the countryside yet within easy reach of the M40 and A41, Aylesbury, Bicester and Westcott Venture Park, and close to many national treasures such as the Rothschild's Waddesdon Manor, Claydon Manor and the Chilterns.

You can be assured a warm welcome from Hilary and Andy, a fine selection of locally sourced and freshly cooked food, and a selection of wines and properly kept cask ales.

The Gatehangers Inn

A hearty meal and a few drinks, a peaceful night of sleep and, if you haven't reached your calorie target then why not start the day with an English cooked breakfast?

Wake up refreshed after a night of sleep without the disturbances of city life. Let us know at what time you would like breakfast and we'll be ready when you come down.

The Gatehangers gives ideally placed hotel accommodation for so many places. We are a couple of minutes from Westcott Venture Park and within easy reach of Aylesbury and Bicester.

Its origins firmly established in local history as an old courthouse, the Gatehangers Inn was for many years named the Red Lion. In 1962 a local man hung a gate on the nearby allotments to stop the animals from straying.

In good British tradition this event led to an annual celebration of food and beer and the birth of the Gatehangers Club and hence the name of the pub today.

The Gatehangers offers some of the best value hotel accommodation in the area. You might just need bed and breakfast, or you can include a freshly cooked dinner in the restaurant and a few pints in the bar.
