"Super experience"
I stayed with my wife as a birthday treat and it was superb. The inn is an historic coaching inn that has all of the original charm of it's age, with all the modern comforts you'd expect. The age of the inn was apparent in its' rambling nature, all of the wonderful woodwork and history. There are beautiful country walks and views to prepare you for the super meals available at the inn. The beer is faultlessly kept and the atmosphere in the bar is enhanced by friendly locals. Super staff! Read less

The management were immediately welcoming, the sheer history of the place wonderful and everything was made easy for a short stay on a special occasion. Comfortable room with tons of character.
Dislikes:
Not a complaint, but there were no four poster beds available. I will book one next time!

one night stay for a meeting the next day. The bedroom was certainly NOT a luxury double & refurbished. The bed was very comfy but the furniture was appalling - ring Staines all over the table. The bathroom door would not shut due to being warped. The shower head and flexi pipe did not look like it had been cleaned in months. I'm sure that is a health risk as it was black. And lastly we were not told until we had eaten our cooked breakfast that the cooked breakfast was in fact an extra cost. Read less

As above. Pretty much everything about the overnight stay. But if you are wanting a nice pub with nice pub food then it's spot on.

Through a cobbled archway on West Wycombe High Street, you come to the entrance of a coaching inn built in the early 18th Century. When you walk in, it feels quite natural that people have been doing this for almost three centuries. Generations of traders, travellers, lovers and visitors have left traces of their presence on the building and its atmosphere, not least of whom is Sukie, the beautiful social climber whose ghost is said to haunt the building.

The attentive service you receive from our staff, however, leaves you in no doubt that you are in the present now. Whether you hope for quick service for a business lunch or a more relaxed pace for dinner with friends, you will not be disappointed. On a fine day, you can sit in our large garden.

You can stay at the George and Dragon, and will find your luxury bedroom both modern and old fashioned, comfortable and interesting. We have two family rooms , two of the rooms have four-poster beds and all of them have the uneven floorboards and quirky angles that come with age. One room straddles the archway into the inn's courtyard and another gives a view over the old roofs and chimneys of West Wycombe. Recent concessions to modern living include direct dial telephones, en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and freeview TV.

Our chefs have created an exciting and intriguing menu which is English at heart including local game, English cheeses, traditional puddings with all locally sourced ingredients. Some menu items and daily specials will represent the chefs' selection from the rest of the world and may include dishes from the Mediterranean and the Far East. As you would expect from an establishment where good dining is such a high priority, we also have a choice of well kept real ales, an excellent wine list and a fine range of malt whiskies.
