"First time staying in a village inn, won't be the last."
We were attending a family wedding and The Three Horseshoes Inn appeared to be close and convenient. We remembered having a drink there some years ago. It was fascinating the number of people who asked; "What's it like?" Unknown to us Kathy and Rob had only taken over the pub 5 weeks earlier. It having had, previously, a bad reputation. Delighted to say that they have, in such a short time 'turned it round' into a clean, welcoming establishment with more proposed changes in hand. Read less

The breakfasts were excellent and the menu/specials board for evening meals looked good. The range of beer is good too.

"Overnight stay"
We wished to visit several National Trust properties and I needed to stay near St Ives. Excellent location for my needs. Lovely village, Houghton Mill one minute away, and access to main roads in minutes. Good vale for money, don't expect The Ritz, a nice place for a few nights. Read less

Good value and it's location.
Dislikes:
Room a bit small, bathroom, was along a landing. Only a minor gripe and it would not put me off going back.

Lovely 17th century country inn just 200 yards from the river in the historic and picturesque village of Houghton, 2 miles from St. Ives (pretty riverside town) and Huntingdon (historic market town) and just 20/25 minutes from Cambridge. We have 2 rooms, very comfortable king sized beds, flat screen tv in each room & hospitality tray. A good hearty breakfast is included in room rates and we try to locally sourced food wherever possible.

An excellent base for business or for leisure with some of the following attractions just a stone's throw away - Cambridge, Ely, The Imperial War Museum at Duxford (approx 20/25 minutes), The American Cemetry. We have free WIFI internet access for your added convenience at no extra charge.
It is also an idyllic base to explore the area or enjoy over 26 miles of signposted walks on the Ouse Valley Way that runs through the village. One day coarse fishing licences available.

The village also boats a convenience shop, post office, antiques shop, gift shop & hairdresser as well
