I didn't realise breakfast was the dried cereal in my room, Milk was offered when I first arrived with no explanation that it was essential for the next days breakfast. I declined it as I thought it was for immediate use to make a tea.

"Not quite as it seemed online"
We stayed on a Saturday evening and had been booked for several weeks for a room and a table. I'd read reviews and it seemed ideal for our purposes with good food available. They seemed short staffed, people serving the restaurant were also dealing with staying guests and though polite and friendly didn't have time to take right to our room or explain how breakfast worked. bed was comfortable & room a little cramped. The food in the restaurant didn't live up to expectation and poor service. Read less

To be fair when we expressed disatisfaction we had the cost of our first drinks knocked off the bill. The location was pretty quiet considering how close to the A428 it is.
Dislikes:
Arrangement of room with bed squashed into corner

4 of us shared 2 rooms. First night: dirty towels, cold tap in washbasin not working, TV could only show ITV. "Breakfast" for the next day was sitting on the side - cornflakes or muesli, plus orange juice. Cooked breakfast not available. Overnight the occupants of one room were bitten by bugs of some sort. 2nd day: returned to the room in the evening - towels hadn't been replaced (still in wet heap on floor), bed not made, though "cleaners" had been in. The 19-year old girl behind the bar, who appeared to be in charge, was delightful - none of this was her fault, and she did her best to help.
Dislikes:
The room, the lack of cleanliness, the non-functional facilities (tap, TV), being bitten overnight, the lack of breakfast.

We love everything about the traditional village pub experience.

So, even if it’s your first time at The Eltisley, you’ll feel like you’ve sat in front of the log fire, sipping your first pint of superbly kept Wells ale or a delicious glass of wine many times before. And if you’ve come to dine you’ll be delighted by the understated charm of our dining rooms.

Whether you’re in the mood for a country pub or eating in excellent yet unfussy dining rooms, you’ll feel at home. The Eltisley is a short country drive away from both Cambridge and St Neots.

A perfectly balanced menu mixes favourites like Beer battered haddock and chips with more adventurous dishes.
We only use the freshest locally sourced ingredients, that is one of the reasons behind our success.

We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure our wine list is unusual and exciting but, above all, just right. It includes the splendidly named Torea Oystercatcher Pinot Noir from New Zealand, South African Hoopenburg Chenin Blanc and Apaltagua Merlot from Chile.

And, when it comes to the great British pint, you’ll have to go far to beat our Eagle IPA on tap.

Please note that we are closed all day on Monday and between 15:00 and 18:00 weekdays.
