"The Blubell was the "Icing on the cake"."
We stayed overnight, so that we could attend a close friend's wedding. Everything about our stay at The Bluebell was fabulous. We would recommend it to anybody. Our room was cosy and welcoming, the breakfast amazing with so much choice. Though we could not stay longer, the menu looked inviting, and the whole gin experiences offered really tempt us to go back one day. Read less

"A gem!"
We came across the Bluebell after searching online for a dog-friendly B&B near Peterborough. We were touring the area and specifically wanted to see Flag Fen archeological site. We are both lovers of the poet John Clare but had no idea until we arrived that not only was the Bluebell in the village of his birth but also next to his cottage. We stayed one night which included supper and breakfast. The room was beautifully appointed and "dog friendly" doesn't even begin to describe it! Read less

The food was delicious, the breakfast in particular, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The "local poet" John Clare tribute bitter (brewed locally) was outstanding.

"Wedding night"
Myself and my now Husband spent our wedding night at the Blue Bell, and the room was fantastic. Lesley and her staff were fantastic and also made the kind gesture of a bottle of Champagne for when we arrived home. The breakfast we received the next morning was fantastic, and a great variety. Perfect place to stay for any occasion, thanks once again to Lesley and all the staff. Read less

The Bluebell is a traditional English inn – a place to eat, drink and sleep. Known for its hospitality for over 200 years it is here that in 1806 John Clare, the peasant’s poet born in the cottage next door, worked as pot boy.

Set away from the bustle of city life, in the delightful historic village of Helpston, The Bluebell is in an ideal spot from which to discover the Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire countryside. Stamford, Burghley and Peterborough are closeby.

Hospitality is still top of our agenda and with an intimate and inviting atmosphere we welcome everyone. Whatever the reason to visit you can enjoy delicious fresh food, carefully selected drinks and good people; this is a place where you can be comfy, relaxed, enthused, inspired and well looked after. We want you to come; enjoy and want to come back.
The four newly converted guest rooms each with their own history provide the perfect country retreat for that indulgent night or two away. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or are on a business trip, it is a relaxed, welcoming and affordable place to stay.

Although small, the rooms combine pared down style with honest creature comforts; Each room has a really comfortable king size bed (one room has twin beds) crisp fresh white linen, hypoallergenic pillows and duvet, flat screen television with Free Sat, fibre optic wi-fi, Tassimo coffee machine, kettle, selection of teas and home-made biscuits. The ensuite wet room has a shower, luxury toiletries, and bathrobes. You are welcome to bring your very well-behaved four legged friend to the Bluebell. This must be mentioned when you book as we want to make sure we can accommodate you.

There is an extra charge if your dog is staying overnight. Dogs are only allowed in certain parts of the pub and must always be on a lead. So come and make yourself at home; enjoy local hospitality and the friendly welcoming atmosphere of The Bluebell.
