Intended as a short break for a group of sisters, sadly two people were not able to come at the last minute due to illness. The Riles Arms were most understanding. My sister and I had a lovely stay and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The scenery is stunning and for walkers this is a great place to stay. We used the car & visited nearby Wincle, where we had camped as children. Having had a good breakfast to start our day we came back to good food in a warm & friendly dining room Read less

We were impressed by the friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The food menu was good, with plenty of choice & the ambience in the dining room, complete with real fire was great.

Good beer, good food and excellent service. The shower room/toilet was excellent.
Dislikes:
The bedroom was small and rather dark. Not warm until the central heating took effect (several hours. The mobile heater also took a long time to have any effect.

"Lovely location with great staff, disappointed about the room size and quality."
From the website, you are led to believe that rooms are spacious and well appointed. Some may be, but there are others that are small box rooms. We were led to believe that we were spending a reasonable amount of money for a luxury room. This was not the case. There should be more honesty about the differing qualities and sizes of the rooms, and there should be differential pricing based on the rooms booked. Read less

Staff and location. Breakfast was also a good feature. Bathrooms were well appointed and modern.

Honesty in the website and pricing.

Set along the Gritstone Trail amid the rolling hills of the Cheshire countryside, the 4 star Ryles Arms is renowned across the region for quality homemade food, real ales and fine wines.

The surrounding views are breathtaking - a favourite starting point for walkers and the perfect place for meeting friends, dining out in our award winning restaurant, hosting a family party or taking a short break in our luxury ensuite accommodation. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the building.

We have a selection of three ales on every day and will happily let you have a taster of each to decide on your perfect pint. If Ale isn't your thing, we also have lager on tap and in bottles and a beautifully selected wine menu where you can choose to drink by the glass or buy the bottle.

Our mouthwatering menu is also accompanied by our specials board, of which we have up to SIX running everyday. Please ask your hostess for when you come in for more details.

We pride ourselves on selecting the finest cuts of British meat. The whole joint is aged for a minimum period of 21 days before we cut. We cut our meat as thick as possible to ensure a superior juicy taste and texture.

We also own the Brownlow Inn just on the outskirts of Congelton, and a mere stone's throw away from Littel Moreton Hall. Our Big Brother as it's affectionately called, due to the thousand plus customers it serves each week, offers a similar menu to ours.

PLEASE NOTE: The Dine & Stay offer is not available online. Dining reservations are not made through room bookings. Please call the Restaurant to reserve a table.
