"open minded"
After reading the reviews, we still booked, but with an open mind. We arrived, and were instantly met by the very pleasant barmaid, who booked us in and gave us any info we needed. we had a room on the front, which was large, clean and had everything we needed. It is true, that the hotel is dated, and in definite need of a makeover,(and yes, there was washing at the end of the landing) but apart from this, we enjoyed our stay. the staff and locals were very friendly.Basic, but good value. "Unorthodox but satisfied me"
My first impression:I was surprised to see that it was for sale. The outside appearance was in need of care and attention, but the one explains the other, perhaps. I arrived on Saturday afternoon, to find lots of noise in the bar. Reception unmanned, as was always the case during my stay. I identified myself to the barman, who accompanied me to my room, took my payment and presented me with the key. Contrary to my expectations on arrival, the room was quiet, clean and accommodating. The fact that food was neither included nor provided gave me the perfect freedom to make my own arrangements, and there was no one to complain if I brought food in (cereal, milk, takeaways etc.)
Dislikes:
My only complaint was that the bedside lamp didn't work. This was fixed the same day. My only other grouse could only be avoided. I parked too close to the hotel and suffered from the local pigeons!

Abergele is a small coastal town on the North Wales coast. Once a Roman trading port, it is now best known for its miles of beautiful white sands.

"Aber" means estuary and "Gele" is the name of the river which runs through the town, hence its name.
Abergele has several sites of historical interest, including two Iron Age hill forts at Castell Cawr. Abergele makes a great base from which to explore the North Wales coast, providing all the charm of a small community. Many of the 10,000 residents are proud of their Welsh ancestry and still speak the Welsh language.

A famous market town, weekly agricultural markets were held until the end of the 20th century. The Bee makes an ideal base for exploring the picturesque scenery of North Wales. We are conveniently located 1 mile from the A55 EXPRESSWAY and less than 1 mile from Pensarn Railway Station The shopping towns of Rhyl,Prestatyn and Llandudno are close by.Several of Wales famous castles are found within 10 miles,Rhuddlan,Conwy and Gwrych to name a few.
