The Cornish Arms at Pendoggett is situated just 3 miles by car or a 40 minute walk from the beautiful, coastal village of Port Isaac, which is famous for the filming of “Doc Martin“ the popular ITV drama series. The character Doc Martin originated from the 2000 Movie Saving Grace. Many of the interior scenes for this were filmed here at The Cornish Arms.

We are a traditional English pub with cosy bars, open fires and original wooden beams. We offer first class accommodation and excellent traditional English fayre. Our Sunday roast lunch is a particular favourite, as well as authentic Thai food which also includes a monthly Thai Banquet (booking essential) and a mouth watering Thai and Fish & chips take away menu.

There is a beautiful large beer garden where you can relax in the Summer months and enjoy a cold glass of real ale and the scenic views. We have again achieved entry into The Good Beer Guide 2011 and The Good Pub Guide.

All our 8 letting rooms including 2 family rooms and a suite are comfortably and tastefully decorated with en suite facilities and TV. A hearty Cornish breakfast is included in the price.


Staying at The Cornish Arms close to Port Isaac is an enjoyable and memorable experience and we will do all we can to make your stay special.

We have 8 comfortable and tastefully decorated letting rooms including 2 family rooms and a suite . All are en suite with tea and coffee making facilities and TV. A hearty, full English breakfast is included in the price and pets are welcome (please contact us for details).

There are many local attractions to visit including the picturesque village of Port Isaac, just down the road, famous as the setting for the ITV drama series “Doc Martin”, the Camel Trail and Padstow, the home of “Rick Stein” and his famous fish restaurant. The Eden Project is approximately 40 minutes by car and Lands End 1.5 hours.

In all you could not want for a more enjoyable place to stay, with great Thai food, superb accommodation, plenty to see and do and the warmest Cornish hospitality around we will make your visit memorable.
