Likes:
The rooms are always beautifully presented and spotlessly clean- Michelle the housekeeper is a credit to the company.

The food was excellent as ever, worth the wait!
Dislikes:
We found the service in the restaurant a little slow- we were left for 20 minutes before anyone came to take our food order.

"Nice hotel"
We had an enjoyable one night stay but found that the room we stayed in was high in ornaments and short on basic furniture for a hotel room. One side of the bed did not have a bedside table and a large picture could be replaced by a decent size mirror in the room. The tv was placed on a low table so was difficult to see from the bed this would have been seen better from a higher location on the wall. The tea/ coffee tray in the room was basic and needs a bit more variety. Read less

The hotel is in a good location as we did not want to stay near the over commercialised Cumbrian lakes. We wanted to explore the rest instead.

The rooms/location/beautifully decorated bar and restaurant/welcoming cakes on bar/breakfast; excellent french toast made even though not on the menu/food presentation/nice tea tray-toffees nice touch
Dislikes:
Most of the staff look very unhappy. Sometimes felt like I was intruding/food was just ok/potato peeler (I think?) switched on at 8am Sunday extremely loud through a thin wall/waitress needs training.
