"Cracking find"
Very friendly staff, good host, comfortable room and excellent food. Had a walk to the helm followed by a couple of drinks prior to meal. Prosecco was flat so they opened a new bottle without me having to ask, which was nice. Food was plentiful, evening meal was delicious and breakfast enormous, glad I asked for a small one. Room was lovely with usual drinks and biscuits and little pot of sweets, there was also a bar of Kendal mint cake, nice touch. Read less

Staff were very friendly and amenable. Delicious home cooked food. Liked the atmosphere in the pub among the regulars. Also had a beer garden at the side and ample parking. Wood certainly return.
Dislikes:
Nothing at all although would recommend stocking small bottles of Prosecco. Noted there was no shampoo in the bathroom although I am certain the host would make some available if you required it.

We stayed for two nights in July. Was a great base to explore the lakes and had a nice local pub feel. The breakfast was great and the room was very clean and comfortable. Dave also put us in touch with someone to help us out with our car trouble which was a life saver and very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend trying their gingerbread and Kendal mint cake vodka too! We are definitely planning on going back the next time we visit the lakes (hopefully this time with a better car! Read less

We are well situated for a visit to the Lake District.
Whether it be a relaxing break away from home or a more energetic walking, climbing or cycling trip.
Being just 3 miles from the M6 and even closer to Kendal, Windermere is about a 15 minute drive
and Ambleside a further 10 mins. Oxenholme main line train station is just over a mile away.
We are perfectly placed at the gateway to the lakes whatever the reason for your trip.

We have a friendly team here (mostly family), and we really appreciate how lucky we are to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world, so feel free to ask any questions during your visit. If we don't know the answer we'll probably know a chap who does!

Our rooms are a real home from home - cosy with a contemporary feel.

No "strict" times for breakfast, so if your body needs a little extra rest then thats fine, have a late breakfast.

All rooms have flat screen digital tv's, free unlimited wifi,
super comfy luxury king size beds, quick boil kettles,
soothing powerful showers, big fluffy towels,
complimentary bottled water, complimentary cookies
and even a complimentary bar of Kendal Mint Cake.

Our rates include a Full English Breakfast, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, juice and hot drinks.
