The large clean room with a surplus of fresh white towels, the food, ths friendly staff and the use of the pool' Free indoor car parking is a welcome bonus.

We welcome you to The Riverside Hotel.
This dramatic property on the River Kent dates back to 1626 and was home to renowned makers of leather for 250 years. Today our newly modernised 47 bedroom hotel offers you the ideal blend of comfort and convenience, right in the heart of Kendal. Use us as a base to explore the Lakes or indulge yourself in our choice of restaurants, our bar overlooking the river and our superb new state of the art leisure facilities.
All of our bedrooms present a high level of comfort with well appointed ensuite bathrooms and a full range of modern facilities including satellite TV. For that special occasion we have the magnificent Bellingham suite. We have several spacious family rooms and dogs are also welcome (at no extra charge).
However you choose to spend your time with us you can be sure of great service and a friendly greeting. Settle down in our lovely restaurant which enjoys views of Kendal Castle and the River Kent. Our specialities make the most of produce supplied by our own kitchen garden and farm.
Kendal “The Gateway to the Lakes” is the County town for South Lakeland and has the best shopping in the area, all within walking distance of the hotel. And yet we are within easy driving distance of all the attractions of the National Park.
Please note children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the room (over 16 years old). Family rooms are available for a maximum of 2 adults only.
