"Overnight stay during Xmas season."
I think we were the only ones in the hotel so everything was very quiet. Room was fine except for a rock hard bed (very very firm). A portable room heater was provided which was a nice warming touch. Shower was modern with multi-jets (interesting). Evening meal was excellent, breakfast good and staff very friendly. They did say they were just about to refurbish some of the rooms - hopefully that includes some of the mattresses! Read less

An experience of the unusual awaits you at this beautifully restored historic hotel. With 16th Century origins and a tale or two to tell, the building is full of character with exposed beams, feature fireplaces and sense of quirkiness hard to find anywhere else. Guests can relax in comfort in one of the 11 individually designed, luxury rooms which each portray charm and a feeling of uniqueness.

The restaurant offers some creative menus prepared with locally sourced, fresh produce complimented by a great range of wines and real ales.
The bar area features open fires and cosy corners and offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for guest to enjoy.
The hotel lobby is a bright new addition to the building and an ideal place to enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea or to get lost in a good book.

The Guildhall Tavern is tucked away just off the town centre in the medieval market town of Denbigh with breathtaking views over the Vale of Clwyd. The Clwydian Range is a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) and is just a short drive. Denbigh is a perfect base for exploring all that picturesque Denbighshire has to offer.

The Guildhall Tavern – A Hidden Gem.
Environmental Statement
The Guildhall Tavern is committed to best practice through its environmental policy which aims to reduce the impact we have. We use licenced recycling contractors to handle the waste we produce along with using some of the latest energy efficient applicances. During our extensive refurbishment during 2009/10 we took steps to insulate the building and stop heat escaping. We are somewhat contrained by the Grade 2* building, so we can never be as green as newer hotels. The character single glazing and period features aren't all that great for the environment, but without them this place just wouldn't be the same!
