One night stay following a pleasant 6 mile circular walk. Courteous staff welcomed us in to The Bear and confirmed table reservations before showing us to our room. Had a great meal, plenty of choice on the menu and being a pub some nice real ales too and a good wine selection to boot. The pub has a nice cosy feel and a wood burner to chase away the damp November chill. Read less

Stayed for 2 nights in September for a wedding. It's a charming old pub and the staff were so friendly and helpful. My room was a little bit dated but spotlessly clean and comfy bed with nice quality bed linen. Breakfast was GREAT on the Saturday morning but average on the Sunday (different chefs?). Overall, a nice place to stay. Read less

The staff went out of their way to be helpful even supplying a bacon sandwich for my boyfriend who was too tired to come down for breakfast! It felt like they really cared and this was much appreciated
Dislikes:
A few things about the room- no bedside tables and a hook for hanging clothes, no wardrobe. Also, the breakfast on Sunday was not great (but I was spoiled maybe by such a great breakfast on Sat?)
