I loved the tucked away location as well as the simple decor in the bedroom.
Dislikes:
Only downside was the size of the burger portion - delicious but would have like a single burger option.

I guess it would be difficult to access in bad weather.

It took an age to find this pub, the GPS couldn't decide where it was. However, when we arrived the welcome was warm, the rooms were fine and the beer was good.

We stayed for dinner, which was OK but not memorable, then sat outside in the garden, which was very enjoyable.

After a pleasant night we had a the full English breakfast, which was huge and contained most things expected, with little plastic pots of jam and marmalade; acceptable but not exciting. Read less

Welcoming staff, nice location (once we found it) and the pub was interesting and the rooms were comfortable. We also loved the garden with a distant view of Crich Stand.
Dislikes:
Nothing really. I think the food was OK, but no more.

"Very disappointing"
Rooms were absolutely freezing especially small bathroom. Carpet badly in need of clean. No hooks to put towels on in bathroom and toilet roll dispenser on door was useless. Stayed new year and although staff in evening were very friendly felt the home made pie was not up to standard - seemed more like leftover pie with massive chunks of tough beef. Plenty of veg and gravy was nice. Read less
Likes:
Friendliness of staff in the evening and the free food at midnight was very generous although we didn't eat it
Dislikes:
Rooms were so cold. had to ask for breakfast and was told we were too late so just got basic breakfast, wasn't asked what we wanted. Very poor service considering party must have spent a small fortune
