Very warm friendly welcome set the tone for a very homely stay. The room was clean and pleasant, bathroom could have done with a shelf or cupboard but otherwise good. We decided to eat in the lovley old pub both nights and were not dissappointed food was excellant and led to two very enjoyable evenings. Read less
Likes:
Apart from the pub itself and the friendly atmoshphere, the location was idylic so quiet and rural yet all attractions just a short drive away.
Dislikes:
One thing that could be improved is the breakfast, more choice would be good,a small menu of what was on offer would be nice, especially as the dining experience was o such a high standard.

It took an age to find this pub, the GPS couldn't decide where it was. However, when we arrived the welcome was warm, the rooms were fine and the beer was good.

We stayed for dinner, which was OK but not memorable, then sat outside in the garden, which was very enjoyable.

After a pleasant night we had a the full English breakfast, which was huge and contained most things expected, with little plastic pots of jam and marmalade; acceptable but not exciting. Read less

Welcoming staff, nice location (once we found it) and the pub was interesting and the rooms were comfortable. We also loved the garden with a distant view of Crich Stand.
Dislikes:
Nothing really. I think the food was OK, but no more.

"Was surprised at the quality"
The room was surprisingly cold for August. The location was great but the whole hotel smelt of unpleasant fat and seemed a little dirty. I wasn't asked what I wanted for breakfast and was given a full English when I'm a vegetarian. There were no bowls at breakfast. The coffee was luke warm and extremely weak (undrinkable). The eggs were very overcooked and the ingredients did not seem high quality. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our stay very much. Read less
