"Great country pub accommodation"
My wife and I stayed for one night midweek (in room 1)whilst walking in the area. The pub would be closed when we were due to arrive, but they contacted us with arrangements to get in. The room was very spacious and the online photos did not really do it justice. Comfortable and very clean. Very nice location in a small rural village. Friendly staff, really good pub food and a range of beers. A very enjoyable stay. Read less

Johnny was very helpful, the pub itself was not open the night of our stay. SO Johnny made dinner reservations for us at "The Barrel", the highest pub in Derbyshire great views. It's just down the road and had a fabulous ale and dinner menu. All in a lovely stay. Read less

The inn has flagstone floors, roaring open fires and an inglenook fireplace in the oak panelled dining room. A very warm welcome is extended to all - casual passers-by, walkers and their dogs, and visitors to the Peak District.

In the bar you will find traditional cask beers, and a good selection of malt whiskys and wines from around the world to suit all tastes. We offer a large choice of bar meals, but you may prefer to linger a while and take advantage of our oak panelled, candle-lit restaurant which offers an interesting and comprehensive menu.

We offer dishes from the regular menu such as minted lamb casserole and plaice with mushroom sauce, plus "specials" such as roast sea bass with fennel, and wild boar steak with orange game sauce.

Our three superb en-suite bedrooms offer comfortable and private accommodation with a personal access and small sitting area. In addition to one twin/double and one double room we can offer a large family room which can sleep up to four and which boasts a superb 4-Poster bed.

Come and enjoy the quiet luxury of a night in a country inn, a first class restaurant downstairs and the tranquil beauty of the village through which to stroll
.
As we are small family run country inn and do not open all day every day arrivals between 3.00 pm and 6.30pm need to telephone us for more information.
