"Friendly well situated Hotel Fabulous - Highly Recommended"
Our stay at the Greyhound Hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and was very clean and nicely presented. The breakfast were of an excellent quality and although we did not eat there every night, on the two occasions we did have an evening meal, the choice was good, the presentation excellent and overall very good value. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Read less

A three-storey building constructed in sandstone with a Roman Doric doorcase and raised quoins, it has made a substantial contribution to the history of the local area. The Greyhound provided lodging for visitors to Cromford and was used as the location for festivities organised by Sir Richard Arkwright for his workforce. The Arkwrights also used it for business. It was here in the Public Room that Richard Arkwright junior instructed Georgina Duchess of Devonshire to leave her answer as to how she intended to repay the money she owed him.
