The location was superb. We had some activities planned in Buckfastleigh and Devon, and this was very centrally located. The view of the river from our room was beautiful! The service was also great.
Dislikes:
We visited during an unusually hot spell in the UK so the room was quite warm. We would have loved to have a fan and screens on the windows so we could keep them open without letting bugs in the room.

"Lovely location near river, friendly staff. Would stay again."
I stayed for two nights. Had a small double the first night which was fine and lovely sounds from the river. The second night I had alarmed room which was better however there was noise from the road which cannot be helped. Staff friendly although breakfast staff did not explain what was on offer and the selection and presentation could be improved. Eg selection of juices, fresh fruit. Having said that was very good value.
The place looked tired could do with a refurb. Read less

quaint and ideally located. Staff friendly and good value. I asked for more towels and could have had two extra large towels. Lots of teas and coffees and milks and a lovely touch with the sweets

"Fabulous location"
Visiting sister who lives close by. New the abbey was near so booked my other sisters and myself for the 2 nights. Rooms are being upgraded but unfortunately we were not in one which was a disappointment but when I come back next year we will all have upgraded rooms, breakfast good selection of cereals, lovely yogurt and full English. Staff were very busy but efficient. Evening meal was nice and tasty small menu but enough of a choice. Read less

Are you looking for fabulous accommodation in the Dartmoor National Park or an unforgetable dinning experience or even great pub food in Buckfastleigh? Then The Abbey Inn can exceed all your expectations, and provide the location and a service that is sure to leave all her guests completely satisfied.

Tucked inside the Dartmoor National Park, and nestled beautifully into the banks of the River Dart, The Abbey Inn, an old quarry house, remains completely hidden from view of the road. Yet from its large car park, looking down the landscaped drive towards the Buckfast Bridge, a three story eighteenth century building, proudly overlooking the River Dart.

Despite its short distance from the A38 and cities of Plymouth, Torquay, Totnes and Exeter, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were a million miles away. Yet we are ideally located, with the world famous Buckfast Abbey just a 2 minute walk away and in the Dartmoor National Park, the Abbey Inn is idealy situated for all the local attractions, including:

•- Miniature Pony Centre
•- Pennywell Farm
•- Otter Sanctuary
•- South Devon Steam Railway
•- Dartmoor National Park
•- Buckfast Abbey
•- Fishing and Kayaking on the River Dart

The Abbey Inn on the edge of the Dartmoor National park is therefore ideally situated for holiday makers and tourists, as well as for businessmen working in the surrounding areas.

At the heart of the Abbey Inn is her restaurant and traditional bar, no pub TV's or gaming machines, just an open fire, great food, award winning beer, Cask Marque Real Ales, excellent wines and the constant flow of water past the extensive river side terrace.

Through the bar into the restaurant a traditional English dining experience awaits, with our chefs offering homemade food, freshly cooked and locally sourced. And for those wanting a relaxing get away the Abbey Inn has eight well appointed en-suite rooms overlooking the River Dart, perfect for a quick break, business trip or extended vac
