All staff were friendly and helpful, though inexperienced (waitress didn't know what fishes were in the medley). Food and wine (local white)good.
Dislikes:
Hotel is on a slope so many stairs to navigate with suitcases in different stairways/ levels. Noisy cistern.

We stopped here for 2 nights. Very useful location just off the A38 with good access to and from Plymouth and Exeter. Ideally situated for the local tourist attractions [within walking distance of Buckfast Abbey, the South Devon Railway and the centre of Buckfastleigh].
The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable with all the facilities that you would expect along with great views of the river.
The Food was excellent with a wide menu choice. Read less

"Tranquil and easy to find"
Travelling with 2 children under 5: The owners were lovely and very helpful. We were concerned about the window in the family room being easily opened wide enough for a child to climb out. We were given some tape as a temporary measure to fix the problem. Breakfast was very good and again, the owners were very helpful to accommodate the children's needs.

We had an evening meal which was good value for money and delicious. We enjoyed the outside dining facilities overlooking the river. Read less
