Bed was very comfortable and bathroom facilities a good standard.B
Despite arranging to have breakfast at 7.30 in order to coincide with the other couple staying at the Seale Arms, the cook failed to turn up until 8am, which meant it was a rushed affair and the couple only had toast.
I did manage to have a cooked breakfast and was attended to, Read less

Room was comfortable and well furnished.

The lack of breakfast at the time I'd asked for it, caused by lack of communication between staff.

Welcome to the Seale Arms

The Seale Arms is a local public house with a vibrant atmosphere located a short walk from the harbour and town centre with all its’ tourist attractions and amenities. It was named after one of Dartmouths’ most famous families and you can read more about them in the next page. It is also home to Dartmouth Rugby Club once again, as it was 100 years ago.

We offer high quality accommodation right in heart of Dartmouth. Located within a few minutes of the water front and close to amenities.

The Seale family came to Dartmouth from Jersey in 1720 and lived in Dartmouth until 1870. During much of this time they used the coat of arms granted to Robert Seale of Northumberland, who was Clerk of the Cheque of Guards (Beefeaters) and this is the coat of arms that is reproduced in the pictorial sign of the Seale Arms today.

It was the Seale family who built the local steam railway as well as a number of other local buildings, including the Old Mill Castle which was built in the early 19th century and saved from dereliction by the kind volunteer work of the naval cadets from Britannia Royal Naval College. It can be found in 11 hectares of woodland called Sansquay Wood behind the Naval College within an area that has recently been brought into woodland management as a community recreation area and incorporates a network of footpaths.

As of November 2012 the Seale Arms is run by Mick and Kathy Chambers and offers superb en-suite accommodation, home cooked food and a friendly atmosphere which we hope will make your stay even more enjoyable.

The Seale Arms makes a perfect base for exploring the beauty the Dartmouth has to offer and we will look forward to welcoming you.
