"Basic accomodation for a one night stay"
I had a one night stay when visiting Plymouth (where I used to live) for work purposes. I used to go to the Boringdon for a drink when I lived locally and remember the food being good from back then. It was the location on the other side of the harbour that really made it for me. Read less
Likes:
The food - both the burger in the evening and breakfast the following day - was lovely. Straightforward hot and tasty. Staff were lovely and friendly and welcoming too.
Dislikes:
The room needed updating, and it most definitely did not need a grubby bar mat on the dressing table. Ick.
Also there were no hooks in the bathroom, or towel hooks anywhere to put things on!

The Boringdon Arms is under new management, and the new owners Alf, Dylane & Leslie together with the boys Damien and Kyle.

Dating back to the 1700's, this traditional inn is located on the south-west coastal path above the shorefront in Turnchapel and is well known for serving fine lagers, 'real ales' and traditional homemade meals. Turnchapel retains its longstanding village appeal and tries to hold on to the traditions and life style that has made it popular with local residents and tourists alike for many years.

We are a village pub offering bed and breakfast accommodation with pleasant rooms, shared toilets and shower rooms, and our two family rooms contain en-suite facilities. Our north facing rooms all have good views of the the Plymouth Barbican and Turnchapel waterfronts and their yacht basins. A few minutes walk in any direction will provide you with views of many historic sites, shipping and naval activity, and tourist attractions.

Within a 10 minute walk from Mount Batten Diving and Water Sports Centre, within 2 miles of Staddon Heights golf course and various beaches can be found within 20 miles. If you don't want to drive into town, the Water Taxi runs daily between the Mount Batten and Barbican wharfs, and operates late on Friday and Saturday nights to allow you plenty of time to enjoy what both sides of the Estuary have to offer.
