The food was excellent - always fresh and hot when it reached the table. All the staff we met were friendly and most helpful.
Dislikes:
The ensuite in our large room was rather small and had a very small wash basin!!

It's proximity to the A38 after a long drive down and it's closeness to the South Hams area of Devon
Dislikes:
WE stayed in room 4 and on our first night we had a lot of noise from the above room especially at night and early morning.

Set around an old courtyard, The Smithaleigh Hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Enjoy skilfully prepared local and international dishes in our intimate restaurant overlooking the courtyard, or for a more informal occasion dine in the outer bar area. We can cater for weddings and banquets or any special occasion and are enjoyed by locals and guests alike.
Unwind with a refreshing drink in the friendly bar or in summer on the patio which is surrounded by colourful gardens and palm trees.
Set in the beautiful Devon countryside, we are close to the A38 and are conveniently located for Plymouth, Devon and the South Hams area.
The Smithaleigh Hotel has twenty-five en-suite rooms, including family rooms and our four poster suite. We are happy to take bookings for a single night stop-over, or for larger groups as part of an event or conference. A high standard of service and quality can be found but in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
