They certainly know about customer service - the staff go out of their way to make it a pleasant place to be.
I had their best steak and it was up to its usually very high standard - superb food.

Being in such familiar surroundings...next to the sea..near where we've stayed every year since we got engaged 21yrs ago.
Fabulous company, food, drink, scenery.
Dislikes:
If I had any criticism (and it's only very small) would be the plastic bunting in the garden is irritating and noisy when the wind blows it.
Response from Victoria Inn:
Thank you Caroline for your amazing review and we're delighted you had such a great time with us. We look forward to welcoming you back again on another occasion, Liz Hore - Licensee

Response from Victoria Inn:
Dear Jill - thanks for your review and I'm glad you had such a great stay with us. I remember that you'd booked the twin in error, so it was our pleasure to make them into a double for your anniversary. I can't think of which of our staff could be considered miserable though?? I think we've got the friendliest and smiliest bunch of people I've ever worked with, but I'll be sure to let them see your comment. See you again soon I hope - Liz, Licensee

The ‘Hobbit House’ (so called because of its unique low front door) is set in the beautiful pub garden grounds. Offering two rooms – one double and one twin – both en-suite with shower rooms. The quirkiness and individuality of the Hobbit House accommodation offers respite from today’s busy world within the heart of Salcombe, only twenty steps from our great bar and restaurant.

Comfortable beds, hospitality tray, television with CD and DVD player, heated towel rails, fluffy towels and hairdryers will ensure everything you need is to hand.

Prices are for rooms only but, being in the heart of Salcombe, you are only a few steps away from a great breakfast at one of many local cafes and restaurants.

Unfortunately, while dogs are welcome in the pub, for the comfort of all of our guests we cannot accommodate dogs in the Hobbit House.

Please bear the following in mind before booking:

The Hobbit House is designed to offer a uniquely quirky experience in the centre of our bustling seaside town. Set in the gardens, the accommodation is up a short flight of iron steps, which means the rooms may be unsuitable for the elderly and /or infirm. The twin room is situated above our cellar, so please expect some noise during opening hours and times of cellar use. This may bother you if you are a very light sleeper but guests have told us the local seagulls make more noise above than anything coming from below! As both rooms share the same heating system, you may experience fluctuations in water pressure and temperature if both en-suites are in use at the same time. Lastly, as with most of our beautiful coastal towns, parking is at an absolute premium in Salcombe. However, we are lucky enough to be situated directly opposite the only short, one hour stay/overnight car park in the centre of the town, while longer term car parking is less than a ten minute walk from the Victoria Inn.

Prices are from £50 to £80 per room per night with NO single occupancy reduction.
