I liked the superb large room as usually when travelling alone the single rooms are like broom cupboards!
Wonderful atmosphere, cosy bar with log fire and good food. Excellent WiFi too.

Likes:
Very friendly and helpful staff. The celebration lunch was excellent.
Dislikes:
The rooms and hotel are a little tired, but we understand the hotel will be refurbished in the New Year. The lighting was very poor in the bedrooms. However, we were very comfortable.

Room was old and needed refurbishing. The shower room was built in a cupboard. The grout between the tiles and the sealer around the shower tray was covered in black mould. The bed linen was dirty.

Welcome to Cockhaven Manor at Bishopsteignton. This 16th Century Freehouse Inn welcomes you to our well situated hotel, that provides you with a relaxing atmospheric dining area, and well equipped accommodation.

Two function rooms are available. Our Bishop suite offers full facilities for break out groups, and is completely self-contained including its own bar and eating area. There are four-poster beds for honeymoon couples and the romantically inclined, but we also have single, twin, triple and double rooms. All are en suite with a bath or shower.

Cockhaven Manor gives you that 'out of the way' feeling and yet is only 2 miles from Newton Abbot and Teignmouth. The building originates from the sixteenth century - with a number of additions being made two hundred years later. Although it has been modernised in the 1980s, it has essentially retained its old world charm and unique character. Personal service and flexibility are the hallmarks of this independent hotel, and we will be happy to meet the requirements you may need.
