"Friendliest and most attentive service we have experienced EVER in the UK"
We were in Asprington for a friends birthday party and were referred to the Watermans Armsby our friend. We were treated by aa the staff as being the most important guests staying and nothing was too much trouble. My wife had recently had some oral surgery which meant she was limited as to what she could eat , but Rob showed much patience (and wit) in advising her as to what she could have. Read less

Everyone smiled and seemed happpy.
Nice, friendly atmosphere.
No request was too much trouble.
Dislikes:
If I had to criticise anything it would be the bedroom furniture. Perhaps a modernisation plan could be discussed and implemented.

A quintessential 17th Century Inn, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, at the bottom of a steep valley next to Bow Creek and bridge. The Inn has been used as a smithy, a brew house, petrol station, a prison and a haunt for the feared press gangs. The area was recorded in the doomsday book.

Built in the 17th-century Waterman’s Arms, overlooks tinkling Bow Creek, near Tuckenhay. Hidden away at the bottom of a steep valley, the streamside tables are perfect for savouring a pint of the fine Palmer’s Copper Ale. The lunches, sourced from local suppliers and served under an outdoor awning, attract foodies from as far away as Exeter and Plymouth.

Golfing, fishing and walking are just a few of the hundreds of opportunities for outdoor adventure whilst staying at The Waterman's Arms. We have 7 top class golf courses just a short car ride from us and if you let us know that you are wishing to play we can assist you with all the necessary arrangements, stocked lakes to fly fish and miles of tranquil rivers where you can laze away hours in the hazy afternoon sun.

We have fifteen beautiful well appointed ensuite rooms with large bathrooms and powerful showers in Annexe and spacious powerful shower rooms in the Inn. Direct dial telephones and free Wi-Fi equipped throughout.

We have two separate dining rooms, on three different levels, seating no more than 35 people in each, they have been recently updated and are now bright, airy and as modern as a 17th century inn can be!

Being close to the stunning Devon coast opens up not only the chance to walk a part of the beautiful and awe-inspiring Southwest Coastal Footpath but offers fishing both onshore
and off one of the many wrecks that litter our shoreline.
