Likes: The main reason we chose the hotel was because it offers the facility to charge our electric car, but we also loved the breakfasts and the friendly and helpful welcome we received from the owners.

Dislikes: Room smell and size and shower room and hanging space for clothes was not deep enough for dresses to hang due to stuff stored in the bottom. No drawers to unpack clothes to.

The Bridge House Hotel is a 3 Star Metro Hotel, situated on the eastern edge of Bridport town centre, next to the River Asker and gardens which follow the river's course. It is a town house built in 1760 to accommodate a religious order of dissenting ministers. Only recently converted to a hotel in the 1980's, it still contains many interesting features and character. Bridport is an ideal centre for a touring holiday. It is a market town of Saxon origin with exceptionally wide streets. The Bridport Museum in South Street has exhibits illustrating the history of the town and locality, including its archaeology and geology. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday. One and a half miles south of the town is the quaint harbour of West Bay with its shingle beaches under towering cliffs and a small promenade and is the starting point of Chesil Beach which runs all the way to Portland. Facilities exist in the vicinity for Golfing, Fishing, (both sea and fresh water), Riding, Boating, Walking etc. All rooms have full ensuite facilities and Wi-Fi access; the lounge offers quiet elegance for relaxation, whilst the bar lounge offers the facility to invite conversation for residents and invited friends. A wine bar complements the traditional ambiance of the hotel with over 30 worldwide wines available by the glass. The many excellent town restaurants, all within walking distance, offer a range of cuisines to suit every pallate and pocket. We are open throughout the year, offering short breaks and weekly holidays.
